Firefox Tips

A few tips that may help you out with your Firefox browsing experience. To start off with they recommend that you back up your Firefox profile before doing any edits. On a Windows machine your profile would be under
\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Mozilla \Firefox\Profiles\(profileID).default\
Below are some of the changes that they suggest will make pages load faster. To make these changes after backing up your profile navigate to about:config in your Firefox browser.

  • Start rendering pages faster
    • nglayout.initialpaint.delay 50
  • Reduce the number of reflows Set both of these
    • content.notify.interval 500000
    • content.notify.ontimer True
  • Maximize connections to multiple servers
    • network.http.max-connections 32
  • Maximize connections to the same server
    • network.http.max-connections-per-server 16
  • Bump up persistent connections per server
    • network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server 8
  • Turn on pipelining
    • network.http.pipelining True
    • network.http.pipelining.maxrequests 16
