Kubuntu 8.10 Released

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Intrepid Ibex The latest version of Ubuntu and Kubuntu have been released. These released are both called Intrepid Ibex, hence the logo. Me being partial to KDE I really cared about this new release because it includes KDE 4.1, which include some very nice features. Mainly some nice eye candy but also the inclusion of a new file manager called Dolphin which is nice since Konqueror was one of KDE pitfalls in my opinion. Here is the official release page with screen shots and more descriptions on the features in this release. Here is the torrent page with all the different torrent files for all the versions of Ubuntu.

They say that it’s safe to use tape in your office because the radiation doesn’t happen in the presence of air, but if you need to fix a vacuum chamber with scotch tape you need to be careful.

Sun’s VirtualBox

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Well it’s running a virtual machine in seamless mode, one of VirtualBox’s features. What does this matter though. Well instead of having to constantly switch back and forth between a virtual machine and your host machine when doing testing you have easy access to both. I’ve uploaded a few screenshots to show what I mean.
