How do I remove the comment block at the bottom of the page? For static pages, I just want content and no comments/blog.

If you look in the page.php file for this code and comment it out then comments will not show up.

<?php comments_template();
?>

Comment it out like this.

<?php // comments_template();
?>

I edited page.php as you suggested. It got rid of the comment block, but it also removed the white content/sidebar area and background green color shows up… and the right sidebar became misaligned (moved left to the content area). I would like to keep the white page layout and sidebars where they are and just remove the comment block. Please let me know how.

Ok I see the problem I've fixed this in the upcoming 1.8.5 release which should be available soon, but if you edit the page.php file again and put this.

<?php // comments_template(); ?>
</div>

Make sure to add the closing div tag as that is the problem.
