This is another back burner item.

If you look at the bottom of the post content on the home page it is nice and clean. Tags show at bottom, and there is my print/pdf button.

But if one looks at the bottom of the content on a single post page, it is a little strange. The print/pdf button shows twice, and the tags are bunched on the left, with an unclick-able about (the post author).

I like the date, category list, and tag list. My bet is that the pdf plugin is forcing the tags to bunch on the left. And, maybe, the ‘About’ thing should be just part of the date:::

Written by so and so on such and such a date and time.

What is the plugin your using for the pdf printer, I’ll try to do some testing with it.

Hi Jeremy,

The PDF print plugin is called:

PDF & Print Button Joliprint

Web site:

WP plugin page:

Also: for what its worth: I am also using “Jetpack by” and it has a group of features (social links, print, etc) and when I did all the updates some of those features were default ON. When they were on (now OFF) they appeared in that bottom box, where the tags are.

PS: One other note. That plug in does offer several positioning options. Including dropping custom code into a template. You can check the options, in the admin area for the plugin.

I have it currently set for after text.

I’ll do some testing with those plugins.

So I noticed on Appearance > Techozoic Settings > About

that the new author block was added on single post pages.

We have discussed the formatting in that area (see above) and I see on the About, that the content for that author block is coming from the author’s User page. So the bio info is displaying correctly. There is no gravatar/avatar because it was off in the Settings > Discussion page.

And, if I pull the bio info then the Author block goes away. All as designed.

I’m going to leave it that way for the moment, because I think it looks better. Also, perhaps, as a future feature, it should be clickable, to take the reader to a admin declared page. That way it could link to a fuller About page for the site owner or author.

As, some sites have multiple post authors, then that would allow each author to have an About page that would be more detailed than the bio field. Also, there would just be less text in that box which already lists, tags and categories.

AND… here is a surprising change. The PDF print icon that was repeated in that box, is now gone. So somehow, turning the author block ON or OFF has some effect on the appearance of that PDF plugin in that area.

Yes that is how I designed it to work. I haven’t had time yet to start writing the documentation on all of the newest features yet, it’s on my to do list though. Thanks for all the feedback on this and everything else you’ve given, it’s a big help.

I noticed the pdf plugin added the icon to the author box as well, just haven’t had time to dig into their code to figure out the exact problem (although I suspect the plugin is just a little overzealous when adding the button)
