Right now I’m in the process of stripping down my theme to redistribute it throughout the wordpress community. If you would like to have a copy of my theme when it’s available leave a comment and I’ll email you as soon as I’m done. I expect it shouldn’t take longer than a week to get it fully tested and packaged.
Yet Another Visual Update
I’ve updated yet again. This time it was pretty major. I’ve added the new navigation bar you see above. Took me quite a while to get it the way I wanted. Not bad for someone who up until about 6 months again never touched a bit of CSS in their life.
Annoying forum users
While visiting the WordPress Support Forums I came across this post.
I’ll quote it here:
hi, i just realized that wordpress can automatically be installed at my site..its confirmed installed already, i can see it thru the cpanel, but couldn’t find it in my site.. what to do? what’s next after installation?
thanks..
For some reason it annoys me to no end when people start asking question so general without first doing a little research. I mean if they had just read around in the very vast documentation they would have found all they needed.
Web 2.0ing My Blog
As you can see I’ve be doing some minor cosmetic enhancements of my blog. I’ve redone the header and footer in my newest favorite image manipulation the GIMP. I’ve added the Web 2.0 sidebar labels with the text being reflected. The new gradient post background, newer lighter colors of blues and greys. I’ve recently added the Digg labels and of course Technorati Tags have been a mainstay for quite some time.
I’ve also taken the time to setup a dev blog where I can test all my latest ideas and not worry about screwing up my live page. I’m also currently beta testing the newest blog software I use called WordPress. I’ve also just starting using virtual hosts with Apache and I don’t know how I managed with them. It is so simple to setup and new sub domain with Apache. Just copy a few lines of a config file change the directory and host name and your off. I think I might document the process of installing multiple WordPress blogs on an Apache server for those who might need it. Stay tuned.
It’s Aliveeeeee
I’ve just had to raise my pc from the dead. Recently the power went out and unfortunately my pc was lost in the depths of corrupted hard drives. I tried everything I knew to allow me to get back to my desktop but all was lost so a quick format and 15 minutes later I had a brand new install of XP. I’ve been wanting to reinstall for a little while anyway. Luckily I had a backup of all my documents and settings and didn’t lose anything in that respect. I spent most of a day reinstalling the applications that I use and getting everything feeling like home again.
