When doing development work for many clients it becomes essential for good password management, traditional pen & paper, web-based service, or software-based. One solution that I’m currently using mainly because it is free and open-source software is KeePass. I’m using the portable version in my Dropbox for maintaining my passwords in multiple locations. Using this method also allows me to use my Android phone & table, and an app called KeePassDroid, along with the Dropbox app to have access remotely.

I’ve been using LastPass, which works cross-browser & cross-platform for free, and (for the hefty price of $12 annually) will work on mobile phones as well. I tried using KeePass before finding LastPass but at the time had both Windows and Mac computers to deal with. Been really happy with it.

I’ve looked at LastPass as well, but I’m strictly a Windows user so this solution has worked for me. The latest find of the Android client was just icing on the cake.
