Dynamic Stylesheets using PHP
Recently while doing some work on my theme for WordPress I came across a very helpful idea. Using PHP in a stylesheet to make it more dynamic. The basic idea is to use PHP variables and define certain elements that repeat in various places such as a color code to make it easily changeable by only having to change one line instead of searching for and replacing multiple times. Other examples are fonts, images, widths, even whole sections of code could be shown or hidden with the use of variables and an if statement.
Microsoft’s Browser Slipping Market Share
IE has been losing market share for a long time but in the last three months it’s dropped nearly a percentage point a month. IE has dropped from %69.77 in November to %67.55 in January. Firefox grew from %20.78 to %21.53 in the same time. Safari and Chrome have also enjoyed good growth in the past few months. It looks like consumers are finally get wise to Microsoft and realizing their is an alternative either in browser or OS all together.

Well if the EU (European Union) has their way then you could have Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari installed by default on a newly purchased PC. The EU claims Microsoft is hurting the browser competitors by bundling Internet Explorer with Windows; you think? The other option is to force a hearing on the matter. IE patch released: Please Update
Microsoft has rushed out a patch to fix a serious zero-day exploit that was discovered last week. After urging users to stop using Internet Explorer they released the patch to fix it. It should be coming through automatic updates and others can download it from here.
Google Chrome 1.0
Google Chrome is no longer beta, yes you heard right a Google product that isn’t beta. After only being beta for 3 and 1/2 months Google removed the beta tag with the release of 1.0 Thursday. It appears that Google has been busy improving their browser, it’s now 1.4 times faster processing JavaScript. Many popular plugins are also said to run faster. Another area of improvement was with the bookmark management, this was a sore area with some users who like to export and organize their bookmarks which now they can. The privacy options have also been improved.
