I’ve been invited to beta test Windows Home Server. Invited really isn’t the word I requested to be invited. Anyway I downloaded the ISO and documentation last night and I’m ready to try it out and see the features it offers. From reading here it seems that the biggest selling point is it’s backup capability. It will supposedly backup all computers on your network and using Single Instance Store (taken from Windows 2003 server) keep backup sizes to a minimum by only copying a file that is the same on all machines only one time to a backup.

Microsoft seems to have intergrated all the features off a media center that make it great for a home with the backup solutions from enterprise that everyone needs to keep their digital lives intact following a disaster.
